Roses of Eyam
In 2013 I performed with a theatre group in Stratford-Upon-Avon called The Trinity Player in the tragic true story 'The Roses of Eyam' directed by Ursula Russell and performed in the St Trinity Church.
After a little town in Yorkshire gets a delivery of fresh, new clothes from London the town suddenly becomes sick with The Plague and they decide to close themselves off to the world to stop the illness from spreading. The story follows a number of families, how they deal with sickness, quarantine and deaths of friends and family. I player the character 'Roland', a young man who lives outside the village and due to marry 'Emmot' (Ali Wright) a beautiful girl who lives with her family inside the village. Once the plague hits and the quarantine starts the two lovers are forced to meet in secret to keep their love going and to pray for the sickness to be over so they can be together again.
